Default Father's Day Hybrid Project

Hello! Welcome to the first Cyber Crop Hybrid Project! As it is Father's Day in Australia on Sunday, please join me in making a special hybrid project.
I will post the project itself on Friday 4th, but I'm making the supply list available now to give you plenty of time to be ready!
To make this project, you will need:
  • coloured printer
  • white cardstock - preferably a sturdy one
  • scissors
  • ink for distressing (optional if you don't have any in your stash)
  • dimensional magic/crystal effects/mod podge (again this is optional if you don't have any)
  • doublesided tape
  • 3 wallet sized photos (you can leave the photos until you see the project and measure them in photoshop against the template I will be providing)
    • if printing the photos, you will also need photo paper
Looking forward to seeing you on friday and hope you join in the fun!

Hello all! Thank you for joining me in the first Cyber Crop Hybrid Project!
I have kept it pretty simple for the first time around, but if you have any questions, please ask and I'll do my best to help.

I have made a little photo frame, that can either stand alone or be a wall hanging, using the amazing My Guy collab (which you can collect from the Progressive Blog Train).

There are two templates to download, one with papers pre-clipped and the elements sized to fit, exactly the same as the one you see above. The other is a blank template for you to clip your own papers to, to make the project your own.

Download the pre-clipped template here.
Download the blank template here.

Once you have downloaded the files, you just need to open them in Photoshop (I use Elements 6.0). For the pre-clipped papers, simply print onto white cardstock, preferably a sturdy one. For the blank template, you just need to drag your paper to the layer above the letter, hold down the alt key while pointing your mouse between the two layers. When you see a little double circle, right click your mouse and voila! When you are happy with it, print it out on to white cardstock.

Cut out the template, leaving it as one piece. Don't forget to cut the middle out of the letters as this is where your photos will go. I inked all the edges to give it a lift, then coated the lot in Dimensional Magic for a really nice shine. It also helps make it a bit stronger. You could use Crystal Effects, Mod Podge, even emboss it with clear embossing powder. Of course, if you don't have any of that in your stash, leave it as is. I also coated the elements as well.

Once dry, I stuck the photos in the cut out middle of the letters, sticking them down when I was happy with the placement. I used pop-up glues dots to stick the elements so they popped out. I attached some little struts to the back to make it stand. To make it a wall hanging, you could set some eyelets in and tie ribbon through them, or just stick the ribbon down on the back.

I would love to see your take on this project, so please post your frames in the Cyber Crop Gallery and link them back here.

Thanks for playing !!!!!
